Sonepar and Klein Tools have announced a donation of $8,004 to the Bob Woodruff Foundation, a significant contribution aimed at supporting veterans and their families. This donation is part of a collaborative initiative where a portion of proceeds from the sale of custom Klein Tools pliers, engraved with the American flag, was directed to the foundation. These limited-edition lineman's pliers are available exclusively through Sonepar company branches and websites, symbolizing a commitment to America's heroes.
Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, praised the partnership, highlighting its role in funding critical services for veterans. The foundation's programs, which include housing assistance, mental health care, and job training, are vital for the well-being of military families across the country. The initiative, which began on Veterans Day in 2024, is set to continue as an annual partnership, reflecting the ongoing commitment of Sonepar and Klein Tools to the military community.
Bill Mortimer, Director of Strategic Vendor Engagement for Sonepar, expressed pride in the donation, emphasizing the sacrifices made by military families. The partnership between Sonepar, Klein Tools, and the Bob Woodruff Foundation is a testament to their shared dedication to supporting veterans. Beyond this donation, Sonepar has demonstrated a broader commitment to the military community through over 25 partnerships with military-focused organizations and participation in more than 300 veteran-focused recruiting events.
Internally, Sonepar's Military and Veterans Employee Resource Group (MERGE) plays a crucial role in supporting veterans within the company, fostering a sense of belonging and connection among its members. In 2024, MERGE further contributed to the cause by donating $10,000 to the Bob Woodruff Foundation. This ongoing support underscores the importance of corporate responsibility in addressing the needs of veterans and their families, making a tangible difference in their lives.
